I received
confirmation today that Dean Scontras, candidate for the republican nomination
for the First District Congressional seat will attend our meeting and
speak to those in attendance. I would encourage all to go to his web site,
and check out all the information on him. His web-site is http://teamdean08.com/.
Mr. Scontras has agreed to speak, and then answer any questions.
I have sent in for editing, two commercials, to run on WLOB, 96.3FM, that
will run between 7:00 and 9:00AM, and 4:00 and 6:00PM. Once each time
frame. The commercials will air from Monday, September 3RD through Friday
September 7TH. Then again on Saturday, September 8TH during Kevin Crocker's
"Talking Maine" radio show.
We are in the process of raising funds to run a second series of commercials
for the week leading up to our meeting on September 22ND. If any of you
would like to contribute to running the second group of commercials, please
contact Gary Holmes, our Treasurer, at 724-2788, or you can e-mail him
at dogsrule@tds.net.
The speakers that we currently have confirmed for the 22ND are:
Dean Scontras Republican candidate for Congress
Jack Wibby of Maine Taxpayers United
Mark Turek, an individual fighting the State's "Fair share"
ruling.
Ethan Strimling, Democratic candidate for Congress confirmed for the old
meeting date of the 15TH, but as of yet, has NOT confirmed for the 22ND.
I have been in contact with several CONSERVATIVE organizations about the
prospects of having a "Conservative Caucus" in October or November.
The idea would be to have a representative from each organization speak
about the focus of their group, and what areas they would be willing to
work with other groups on to advance CONSERVATIVE causes. I am in hopes
that we will have many organizations attend, and agree to unite to the
common cause that we all together may effect a positive change in our
State.
I am in hopes to have a proposed agenda for the upcoming meeting to you
all at least a week prior to the meeting. One item that will need to be
covered is the Ballot Access Petition. Other possible discussion may include
a Citizen's Petition calling for REFORM of Maine's Department of Health
and Human Services. The atrocities laid at the feet of this department,
not to mention the waste of Taxpayers money, needs to be addressed. Any
other ideas for discussion? Please let me know.
I will look forward to seeing you all in the near future. It will be a
busy upcoming season, but the accomplishments will be well worth the work
that we will undertake.
